Here it is, now. It’s the lovely “Black Velvet Band” from that surreal show in St Peters, MO.
Here’s also a photo that Rachel sent me.
Cheers!

Call all your friends and tell them to join you tomorrow evening at the Borders in lovely Ballwin, MO. I’ve had some great in-store shows in Ballwin. So, come be part of the fun in the County! St Louis County, that is.

All right! Here’s another track from Friday evening’s in-store performance at Borders in lovely St Peters, MO. Thanks so much to the people who came out, that evening. Special thanks to the fine students from O’Fallon West, and every other high school represented. You guys were a lot of fun!
Also, as 11 September comes around a bit too fast for me, each year, I still find myself in a bit of a navel-gazing remembrance mode, today. So, I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the heroism of the first responders, and the strong attitudes that make me lovingly miss being in the city that never sleeps, than to offer this biting tale of an iconic arse-kicking New Yorker.
Writing this one makes me need tissues. BRB…
So, here is the Big… Strong… Man!

Here is the first free MP3 from Friday night’s show at Borders in St Peters, MO. The crowd participation rivaled that of many pubs. Normally, I wouldn’t have done this song in a bookstore or coffee house setting.

I had a great time, Friday evening, at the Border in St Peters, MO. Thank you to all my new friends, and old friends, there, for making it such a good time. Thanks to the students of O’Fallon West High School, and all other schools well represented that night.
If you have photos and video, just leave me a comment, and I’ll go check them out.
The recording came out well, so I’ll post some MP3s, here and on MySpace. So, watch for that in the next few hours and days.

Thursday, 6 September at 10AM, Governor Matt Blunt and Mayor Francis Slay meet meet with ONE.org as St Louis and Missouri make joint declarations to become the 9th state and the 120th city of ONE. These declarations state the state and city’s support for the worldwide campaign against poverty. In essence, these declarations tell other politicians that our citizens support policy that will help to end poverty across the globe.
Visit the ONE Missouri page to find out about attending the joint declaration, this Thursday.

Jonathan Coulton performed at PAX, last weekend. In his interview, he admits to having only recently tried the Wii for the first time. I have to admit, I’ve not had the chance to play on any of the new game stations, yet.
In a superficial continuation of a theme, in my life, my daughter exclaimed, last night, that she was playing on the Wii.
This morning, she asked if we could get a real Wii. I guess Reader Rabbit, the Leapster (an awesome children’s platform), Webkinz, and, now, the Total Gym are feeling too old skool for her.
I know. I know. It’s 1 September. It was a long week, with long evenings and early morns, so I’m more than a bit tardy with my recap and thank yous to the fine folk who attended my show in Sunset Hills, MO. Several of the sessioners from Wednesdays at Music Folk in Webster Groves appeared. There’s not a nicer bunch of folks than those I met from there. Thanks to everyone who made it through the early rain, as well as the later mess of non-working traffic signals. I hope no one’s power stayed off for long.
The guitar was all but absent from the recording of the show, so I probably won’t post anything from it. It’s quite weak sounding. (Note to self: offer someone a sweet, black, “staff” t-shirt in trade for manning the sound at small venues.)
Cheers and bless your sweet, music-loving hearts! I mean that. Really.
