No. 2 Holiday song in the UK charts 1987, the Pogues’ “Fairytale of New York” is a sweet Christmas song of love and derision in the Big Apple. Shane McGowan and the late Kirsty MacColl sang this duet, and now I’m recreating as best as one person can.
I shot this –and most of my recent videos- myself using my iPhone SE (2020), wide-angle lens (0.7X), and secondary audio on a Zoom H2n in X/Y mode. Someday soon I’ll share some photos and more details of my setup.
Please share your ideas, critiques, comments, and, above all, your desires for songs to record in the near future.
